FLEX32256-50 QD NUT ASSEMBLY (INCLUDES 55 MM HEX BOLT AND WASHERS)

Price:
C$23.99

Description

  • QD Nut Assembly — the spare assembly for mounting additional Flexxifinger crop lifters
  • Every Flexxifinger crop lifter ships with one QD nut assembly; purchase extra assemblies to mount additional lifters
  • Using the hex head cap screw makes the assembly universal for most types of cutter bars; optional carriage bolts (32310 / 32312 / 32314) are available where the header requires them

Technical data

  • Contents per Flexxifinger installation instructions: 1 QD nut, 1 M10 hex head cap screw (55 mm), 8 large flat washers (USS) and 4 small flat washers (SAE) for spacing
  • Washer starting points from the installation instructions: Case IH, MacDon and New Holland 4–8 USS; John Deere 1–4 USS on top of the cast knife hold-down; Schumacher guard 4 SAE
  • Earlier assembly part number 32254-55 was replaced by 32256-50 (supplier sheet)

Installation

  • Starting 6 in. (15 cm) from the right side of the header and every 12 in. (30 cm) across it, remove the guard nut and bolt from the guards
  • Insert the provided M10 hex head bolt from the bottom of the header, or the correct Flexxifinger carriage bolt if purchased
  • Place washers of the appropriate size and number onto the protruding bolt, then thread the QD nut onto the bolt
  • Install one lifter and check the rail is parallel to the guard — add or remove washers until it is — then use that first QD nut as the guide for the rest; when installing over a knife hold-down, reduce the washer count by the thickness of the hold-down so all QD nuts sit at the same height
  • Tighten all QD nuts to 60 ft-lb (81 Nm); once installed, the QD nuts can remain on the header even when the crop lifters are not being used
  • Installation guide: Pulse Crop Lifters — Installation & Adjustment Instructions (Flexxifinger, PDF)

Tips & tricks

  • Quick-change: once the QD nuts are on the header, lifters slide on and off without removing the guard bolt each time — to remove a lifter, lift the black QD spring clear of the nut and pull the lifter forward
  • To make future installation and adjustment quicker, number the lifters with a paint pen before removing them so each lifter goes back to the spot it was adjusted for
  • If a carriage bolt is needed but not on hand, the instructions show a washer stack on the hex bolt to mimic one — but the bolt head may catch plant material and rocks under the header and wear smooth over time, making it difficult to remove
