sturdy cast metal, capable of standing up to challenging ground conditions

For some pulses, cereals, rice, oilseed, forage, hemp and other specialty crops

Sold individually

Technical data

Standard rail — generally used with a rigid header (the FlexxiFloat system also offers a high-pivot rail for flex headers and a high-pivot MD-2 rail for the MacDon #286315 long guard)

Universal fit — fits both N and J series guards; QD nut assembly included

Spring pivot lets the lifter follow ground fluctuations — ideal for uneven ground conditions

All-steel construction — the lifter will NOT bend, so use extreme caution over ruts and uneven ground to minimize possible damage to the header/combine

Shoe NOT included — pairs with any of the FlexxiFloat shoes, sold separately, each complete with roll pin: 20231.1 Tip (all-purpose), 20232.1 Wide Tip (floatation), 20233.1 Short (small seed), 20234.1 Long, 20235.2 Long 2-hole, 20236.1 Heavy

Nylon tail included but left uninstalled — use it or leave it off, as conditions dictate (see Installation)

Two adjustments: the adjustment screw limits downward travel of the lifting point, and the pivot spring self-adjusts to ground level

Installation

Install the QD nut assemblies first: starting 6 in. from the right side of the header and every 12 in. across, remove the guard nut and bolt; insert the supplied M10 hex head bolt from the bottom of the header, or the correct Flexxifinger carriage bolt if the header needs one (32310 for poly skid plates, 32312 for 7/16 in. carriage bolts, 32314 for 10 mm bolts); shim with washers so the rail sits parallel to the guard (Case IH, MacDon and New Holland generally 4–8 USS; John Deere 1–4 USS on top of the cast knife hold-down; Schumacher 4 SAE)

Slide the lifter snout over the guard with the rail spring side up and push the rail all the way into the rail slot on the QD nut until the spring snaps down evenly into place; check knife clearance with the lifter moved fully side to side and up and down

The lifter must remain free to move and free-float about 1/4 in. to 1/2 in. up, down and side to side — never install a bolt or set screw in the hole at the top of the lifter rail to create a snug fit

Tighten all QD nuts to 60 ft-lb (81 Nm); the QD nuts can remain on the header even when the lifters are not being used; adjust the cutting bar to negative 5 degrees

Install the shoe onto the lifter arm: slide the shoe onto the tenon (projection) at the tip of the arm until the holes on the shoe and tenon line up; insert the roll pin and pound it in with a hammer until the end of the roll pin is flush on both sides of the shoe; when installing the long shoe, repeat for the second roll pin

Limit the adjustment screw and jam nut: loosen the jam nut, turn the adjustment screw to set the lifter to a maximum of 22 degrees from the ground, with the back half of the shoe contacting the ground and the tip of the shoe about 1/2 in. to 3/4 in. above the ground; a smaller angle is better for lifting the plant; tighten the jam nut with a flat wrench; turning the adjustment screw in too much reduces the lifter's ability to follow the ground and increases the chance of damage

Tail (optional): the lifter tail has been left uninstalled but included, so the lifter can be used with or without the tail — the tail can provide additional lift in lighter crop situations but is not recommended when harvesting heavy crops, as heavy crop may push the tail down, pivoting the tip upward so it rides over downed crop instead of lifting it; to install it, tighten the lifter rail in a vise, insert the round tenon of the nylon tail into the round hole at the back of the arm with the rounded step fitting into the groove, and drive the self-tapping screw in from the other side of the arm with a 5/16 in. socket

Combine 100 ft, then readjust the angle of the lifters as required; set lifters while the combine is in the field, as the combine tires may sink lower than ground level; centre the header reel over the cutter bar so the reel tines pick the crop up from the lifters, not from the ground ahead of them; observe the lifters at cutting height while slowly driving over a path that has already been harvested and readjust any lifters not working in unison

Full instructions: FlexxiFloat 200/250 Installation &
